Eastern North Carolina is also home to many of the best sportfishing boat builders in the US. Towns like wanchese, Manteo, Southport, Frisco and Edenton have been producing world renowned fishing boats for years. Big Game Fishig has been a big part of Eastern North Carolina and no more so than in Hatteras. Cape Hatteras is the closest point to the Gulf Stream outside of Florida and has been a popular Big Game Fishing destination for years.
